Sometimes relationships can be complicated both in life and in the CFL. During the 2025 season, the Tiger-Cats signed National wide receiver Shedler Fervius, who had been released by the Montreal Alouettes. While Fervius spent time with the Tiger-Cats, he never had an opportunity to make an impact on the field for Hamilton.

Fervius had become an afterthought for the Tiger-Cats, but obviously, he made some type of positive impact on the Tiger-Cats coaching staff. The Tiger-Cats have announced that they have once again signed National wide receiver Shedler Fervius to their roster heading into 2026.

While Fervius has failed to make a big statistical splash during his CFL career, the National receiver has value as a role-player and can add flexibility for the Tiger-Cats as they manage the Ratio Rule. Re-signing Fervius at a wide receiver will most likely have a similar impact to having National wide receiver Tyler Ternowski on the roster. Ternowski does a great job of stepping in when needed, plays well on special teams, and makes plays when given the opportunity in the passing game.

The 5’11”, 200-pound Shedler Fervius started his CFL career with the Montreal Alouettes. Fervius played with the Alouettes from 2023 until 2025. While with Montreal, Fervius appeared in 18 games and caught 7 passes for 87 yards. While Fervius is not on track to be an All-CFL player in the near future, he can be a valuable prospect for Hamilton if he is willing to play a role similar to what Ternowski plays for Hamilton.
