“Look, Katy Perry, I was married to her. I love her still, and I’m glad that her mom’s in the room to hear me say this, but look. I was OK with Orlando Bloom, but Justin Trudeau? Come on, man! Don’t put me in a category with that guy! That globalist stooge,” Brand said.
Brand’s assessment has racked up millions of views on social media with one viewer quipping: “Orlando gets the pass for being a pirate elf, but Justin? Nah, that’s where the ‘globalist stooge’ red flag pops up.”
Brand was married to Perry from 2010 until 2012 before he shocked her before a concert by asking for a divorce via text. She moved on with Bloom in 2016, and shares a 5-year-old daughter with the Lord of the Rings actor, however they split over the summer.

Rumours of Perry and Trudeau’s relationship first started to swirl back in July when the two were spotted out at a dinner date in Montreal. The two confirmed their romance in October when they were photographed holding hands in Paris and went Instagram official during a December visit to Japan.

Brand is frequent critic of Trudeau
Brand was a frequent critic of Trudeau during his 10-year reign as Canada’s prime minister. In 2022, Brand joined a chorus that included Elon Musk, Rob Schneider and Evangeline Lilly when he spoke out in support of the truckers driving cross-country to protest the vaccine mandate.
In a 14-minute YouTube video called “Truckers Convoy: Why The Mainstream Media Blackout?!”, Brand questioned how truckers who would not take the COVID-19 vaccine became “loathed if they won’t participate and capitulate according to the wills of the powerful.”
“This is precisely what people need to do. You have to work out what your objectives are, work out how you’re going to pursue it, make sure you’re ideologically sound and that your conduct is fair,” he said about the convoy. “We’re dealing with a pretty nefarious machine that will say anything to shut down opposition to its intentions.”

In another video posted to his YouTube channel in 2022, Brand accused Trudeau of being an authoritarian and a hypocrite for his reaction to the Freedom Convoy that descended on Ottawa that year and his criticism to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine.
“What I’m saying is, if the reason that this war is wrong, or one of the reasons, is because it is against democratic principals, then you must ensure where it is possible, where there is no militarized state opposing your ability to be democratic, you should be democratic, otherwise you do not have the same argument,” Brand said.
“You can criticize Russia for many, many reasons, you can condemn the actions of Russia, quite rightly, for many reasons. What you can’t do is claim to be an exemplar of democracy if whenever you get the opportunity to be tyrannical, you take it.”

Perry and Trudeau sharing romance
Perry confirmed her relationship with Trudeau when she shared a series of photos of the two of them together in Japan with her 202 million Instagram followers.
“Tokyo times on tour and more,” the Dark Horse singer wrote alongside a heart emoji.

One insider told Page Six the pair are ecstatic that their new romance has made headlines worldwide, adding that Trudeau needed an ego boost after his popularity at home sank to all-time lows.
“He felt inadequate,” the source said.
Other sources say Trudeau, who split with his wife of 18 years, Sophie Gregoire, in 2023, wants to be partnered up with someone who is famous, much like his father did.

Pierre Trudeau famously dated singer Barbara Streisand and actress Kim Cattrall.
“He told everyone that he wanted to be like his dad, and he wanted to f*** a celebrity,” one source told Page Six.
“Star f***ing is very much the Trudeau brand,” another insider said. “I don’t think these things are hard to arrange when you’re in those circles.”
