The Blue Bombers have re-signed Winnipeg’s very own, Nick Demski, to a two-year extension.

As the Bombers look ahead to next season, Demski believes that the Bombers still have unfinished business.

“What was it? I think five years or something like that, we’ve been having a lot of success, going to the Grey Cup, obviously the last three that we went to didn’t go our favour but at the end of the day, I mean, we have a lot of good football left in Winnipeg,” said Demski.

Re-signing wasn’t about looking in the past for the Bombers receiver. To him, it was what they could still become.

“I think we have a lot of good football left to be played, and I think a lot of guys are gonna be motivated to fix what happened last year and not tryna get stuck in the past, but there’s a lot of positives that could come in the future, and we all know we’re all gonna be working hard for it,” said Demski.

Demski says frustration can’t linger; he sees renewed motivation, especially with so much of the core group choosing to return.

“This is just something that obviously I wanted to get done and of course you can’t stick on frustration and what happened last year too much, at the end of the day you’re gonna get lost in the past so you know now that we got this deal done it and as you said a lot of the gang is signing back, it’s definitely a lot of motivation to get back and get this thing going,“ said Demski.

As one of the vets, Demski says one of his roles is helping the young guys out.

“I tell them all, I’m an open book man, any questions that you have, come to me, ask, you know every time I watch film I’m not talking to one person I’m kind of talking throughout the whole room, whoever watches film in there with me, I’m not a silent guy I’m out there giving my opinion so I’m always trying. I just try to give everybody little pieces and bits that they can take home. I’m always just tryna expand not only my iq but other people’s IQ around me,” he explained.

“I don’t wanna play for anybody else, big answer short, but this is where I want to play, this is where I want to finish.”
