Battery usage is difficult to measure as we all use smartphones differently. Some love to watch videos, while others use it to surf the web, and some (like our devices editor Dean Daley) will play Marvel Snap for an hour straight while watching TV.

However, some phones clearly outperform others. All four phones nominated have pretty stellar battery experiences; however, two stand out among the rest.

The OnePlus 15 and the iPhone 17 Pro Max, you can’t go wrong with either option. Dean and former creative director Brad Bennett reported pretty similar results; however, when Dean got his hands on the 17 Pro Max, he noted that he didn’t experience the same two-day battery life that Brad had. It’s likely due to his continuous games of Marvel Snap.

Not to say the battery didn’t easily surpass a day, but the OnePlus 15 almost always makes it to the second night, no matter how many games of Marvel Snap, listening to music, watching TikTok reels and more. This makes sense considering the device is using the power-efficient Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and features a 7,300mAh battery, one of the biggest in the Canadian market — though the upcoming OnePlus 15R also sports the same battery size. The Canadian Smartphone Award for ‘Best Battery’ goes to the OnePlus 15.
