Reigning CFL Outstanding Lineman of the Year, Jermarcus Hardrick, celebrated a full-circle season in 2025. From a career-threatening injury in 2024 to working his way back to the top of the game, there were some significant milestones and accomplishments for the Batesville, Mississippi, native.
If you look at his career as a whole, it’s also been a full circle as his first start in the CFL came against his current head coach, Corey Mace and the Calgary Stampeders.
“Oh, we got to know each other pretty good. I respect him, respect that guy. 2014 was my first year, so that defence I was going against, I didn’t know anything about. I look back at it as one of the good teams, well, one of the great teams that won the Grey Cup.”
“I think my first game, I didn’t even know 12 people were on the field. I was just playing. Dan Dorazio told me, ‘Block the guy in front of me, we’ll figure it out later.’ I think I showed up on a Tuesday and told him I was going to be on the practice squad. Friday, I said, ‘Hey, you’re playing.’ I just got there. I didn’t know any rules. I knew the yard was off. Dan DeRozio stayed up with me all night, and here we are today.”
