It shouldn’t come as any surprise that the new BLS statistician Trump hand picked to replace the one he fired would engage in dubious activities to fraudulently improve economic numbers.
Now we have proof: November’s inflation was reported as 2.6% a whopping 1 basis point improvement over last year’s 2.7%. But the only way BLS could arrive at the preordained number was to zero out housing inflation, THE SINGLE BIGGEST CONTRIBUTOR TO THE INFLATION NUMBER!
So begins the automatic haircut to every government number because the people who need those numbers can no longer trust them. This will effectively be an additional tariff on the economy because ultimately businesses will have to be more cautious in their hiring and expenditures. They can’t rely on artificially rosy numbers and they can’t independently derive their own accurate number.
