Automobilista 2’s winter update will include three generations of NASCAR-style stock cars, the Nürburgring Nordschleife’s Touristenfahrten layout, plus new DLC.
Finally, Automobilista 2 fans will be able to drive NASCAR-style stock cars, taking advantage of the sim’s oval tracks and full-course yellow features.
Three generations of unlicensed stock cars are coming with the sim’s v1.6.9 update, representing the ‘80s, ‘90s and the current era.
A special version (also unlicensed) of the NASCAR-backed Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 that raced at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2023 will also be made available, giving players the ideal chance to compare themselves to the GT3 brigade along the Mulsanne straight.

This free content update is only available to players who have purchased the Racin´USA Expansion Pack or any of the requisite bundles.
However, developer Reiza Studios will make all of its new content free to play for a limited time for all AMS 2 players, ‘until the early days of 2026’.

Nürburgring Nordschleife Touristenfahrten
Reiza will also release the Touristenfahrten layout of the Nordschleife, featuring electric barriers and lap times measured via the traditional ‘bridge to gantry’ method.
This configuration is available only to owners of the Nürburgring 2025 DLC.

Supercars Pt2 DLC
The second part of the Supercars DLC will also arrive alongside AMS 2’s winter update, with the Aston Martin Valkyrie, Maserati GT2 Stradale, Audi R8 V10 GT and Dodge Viper ACR set to be added.
It will sell for $7.99 upon release.

Game updates
Physics and tyre updates are the standard fare of AMS 2 updates, and v1.6.9 is no different, with more improvements apparently on the way from Reiza.
The AI’s first-corner and first-lap behaviour will also be addressed in the winter update, with particular attention being paid to their braking intelligence (or lack of, it seems).
The Formula Reiza and Formula Ultimate Gen 1 and Gen 2 classes will also undergo a rebrand, being renamed to Formula V8 Gen3, Formula Hybrid Gen2 and Formula Hybrid Gen3, respectively.
This perhaps indicates that a 2026-spec Formula 1-style car may be on the way in future.

Updated demo
Reiza is also working on a new demo edition of AMS 2, replete with a wider range of content than before.
Automobilista 2 Steam sale
AMS 2 and its DLCs are currently discounted in Steam’s Winter Sale, with the game reduced to £10.49 / $11.99.
Although no release date has been given for Automobilista 2’s v1.6.9 update and its companion DLCs, it is expected to drop before Christmas Day.
