It feels like only yesterday we were watching Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 3. However, the show has been in production for its fourth and fifth seasons. Paramount+ announced in June 2025 that Strange New Worlds would be ending with a fifth and final season. Since that announcement, the cast have gone on to film and complete the 6-episode season, which wrapped in the last few days. Several cast and crew members have posted on social media to celebrate the completion of the job and say goodbye to the series.
Thankfully, while it may be the end of filming for the series, Trekkies still have Season 4 and Season 5 to look forward to. Strange New Worlds Season 4 has been in post-production for some time and is expected to air in 2026, the year of Star Trek’s 60th Anniversary. In the early hours of Saturday, December 20th 2025, Executive Producer Bill Wolkoff confirmed that principal photography for the series had wrapped. Let’s look at what the cast and crew have said about the end of the line.

Anson Mount
Strange New Worlds’ leading man, Anson Mount, who plays Captain Christopher Pike, has shared a final set tour of the USS Enterprise. Additionally, has posted plenty of photos from around the production on his social media profiles. The caption on a post from December 11th said he’d be “soon be nostalgic for the thing [he’s] currently experiencing, indicating that production on the series was very much nearing its end.
Below, Mount gives his final tour of the USS Enterprise as seen in Strange New Worlds. This includes the many sets and locations we’ve seen from the starship over the recent seasons.
Christina Chong
Actress Christina Chong, who plays La’an Noonien-Singh, was among the first members of the show’s core cast to publicly post about wrapping on the series. On the 14th of December 2025, she posted a picture of her trailer door, captioning it as the end of an “incredible” 5-year mission for La’an. You can see the post below. Start working on your theories for how La’an’s storyline in Strange New Worlds will come to an end.
Chong would share another personal photo from the series’ set. This is her dog, Runa, with Gregory “Greggy”. It seems this lovely doggo belongs to actor Paul Wesley, who portrays James T Kirk in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Wesley actually confirmed his own filming completion in a post on Friday, December 19th.
Martin Quinn
On the 16th of December, just days after Chong posted about wrapping the series, Scotty actor Martin Quinn did the same. From a story posted on his Instagram page, he farewelled the iconic “Scot-man” from his trailer, where the series is filming in Ontario. It’s here that it became obvious that Chong’s departure wasn’t a fluke, but that production on Strange New Worlds Season 5 was due to end very soon.

Celia Rose-Gooding
Hours after Martin Quinn confirmed his work on the series ending, Uhura actor Celia Rose-Gooding posted the same. A story on her Instagram page saw her posing in front of her trailer with a delta pin with her character’s name, likely a wrap gift. The caption “five-year mission complete” echoes co-star Christina Chong’s sentiment.

Jess Bush
Days later, on December 17th, Nurse Chapel actor Jess Bush posted a gallery of images on her Instagram page commemorating her time on the series. Although absent the trailer door photo of her wrapped co-stars, complete with the caption “that’s a wrap on the chap”, it was an emotional goodbye to the time she spent and connections she forged working on the series.
Crew Beaming Out
While the main cast have all shared their reactions to Strange New Worlds’ ending, so have many of the talented crew behind the scenes of the Star Trek production. As we mentioned earlier, Exec Producer Bill Wolkoff shared a heartwarming message on their personal Bsky account.
And that’s a wrap of principal photography for Strange New Worlds! It’s been an honor to write for all five seasons of this show. Maybe weird to be writing this when we still have two more seasons coming out? They’re good I hope you’ll watch no I don’t know when they’ll air xo🖖🏻

Axelle Carolyn, who directed the third episode of Strange New Worlds Season 5, also shared a post about the conclusion of filming. She shared a post on Instagram, along with a message reflecting on her time on the set of the USS Enterprise. “It’s been an honor to direct not one but two episodes , and I can’t wait for you all to see them. LLAP”

Chris Fisher, who has directed many episodes of Strange New Worlds, posted a video on Instagram to share his thoughts on the series’ end. According to sources, it seems Fisher has directed the penultimate episode of Season 5. Executive Producer and Co-showrunner Akiva Goldsman reportedly directed the final episode. Fisher also shared some behind-the-scenes pictures you can find above. Interestingly, Spock (Ethan Peck) has a unique look…
Maya Bankovic, Director of Photography, posted a behind-the-scenes picture collection of her time working on Strange New Worlds. During the post, they congratulated the team on wrapping filming.
Daniel J Burns, Art Director on Strange New Worlds, shared on X (Twitter) that he has recently returned for a final set visit. He shared a picture of himself in Captain Pike’s quarters on board the USS Enterprise. Burns has previously shared a lot of concept artwork and behind-the-scenes images from the series’ production on his social media.

Beaming Out, for now!
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds may be wrapping up filming, but Trekkies still have 2 seasons of the series to look forward to. Captain Christopher Pike’s USS Enterprise adventures continue with both the 10-episode Season 4 and the 6-episode Season 5 coming in the future. Season 4 is expected to arrive sometime in 2026, likely not long after the first season of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy finishes in March. However, we likely won’t see Season 5 until 2027.
Season 5 of Strange New Worlds may have finished filming, but there is still some way to go in the series’ post-production. The benefit of filming Season 4 and 5 back-to-back is that it should make the pipeline a little smoother for the teams involved. Still, it seems this era of the Star Trek Universe is, sadly, coming to a close in the not-so-distant future!
