New Spider-Man: Brand New Day production photos popped up online, giving fans some potential teases at what to expect in the new movie.

What villains were teased in Spider-Man: Brand New Day?

Recently, director Destin Daniel Cretton’s assistant, Ziyi Cao, shared a new photo on Instagram. The photo itself is of a Spider-Man toy, dangling from a rope in a room, with comic covers pinned to various parts of the wall.

While mostly innuocuous in nature, fans have begin to theorize on whether or not the comic covers seen in the photo could hint at themes or characters the movie will pull from. The two covers, The Amazing Spider-Man 134 and The Amazing Spider-Man 345, show Spider-Man fighting the villains Tarantula and Boomerang, respectively.

Fans have wondered if this means the villains might show up in some sort of montage, or in any way in the movie. A recent report from an insider also teased that Brand New Day will feature multiple villains, so perhaps we’ll be seeing a ton of villains from Spider-Man’s rogue’s gallery.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is being directed by Destin Daniel Cretton from a screenplay written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. The movie will once again be led by Tom Holland as he reprises his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Emmy winner Zendaya and Jacob Batalo are also expected to return for the sequel.
