The Boxing Day and New Year Dips you can take part in across the North East

While some of us are polishing off the rest of the turkey and stuffing our faces with chocolate, the brave among us may be looking to take dip in the sea on Boxing Day.

And while others spend New Year’s Day nursing a hangover, others want to kick it off with a splash.

Each year, thousands across the region take part in the dips which see participants jump into the ocean for a chilly swim for either fun, charity or the adrenaline rush.

As always, there’s a whole host of dips which have been organised up and down the coast for you to choose from.
