Ananya Panday is currently busy promoting her upcoming film Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, co-starring Kartik Aaryan, and speaking candidly about issues close to her heart.
During a recent interview, the actor opened up about body positivity, sharing her personal experiences and why self-confidence remains central to her outlook.
In a conversation with Brut India, Ananya said she has always been vocal about embracing oneself, regardless of shape or size, especially as women experience constant physical changes.
She said, “I have always been very, very vocal about the fact that we have to have a very strong sense of self and be confident in whatever shape and size we are.”
Ananya Panday highlighted how monthly cycles and bloating affect women, adding that these natural phases make it important to be kinder and more understanding towards one’s body.
She explained, “As a girl, you go through so many changes in your body. It’s like every month, you have your periods and you feel bloated.”
The Bollywood actor shared a recent example, revealing how she chooses comfort during such times rather than forcing herself into restrictive clothing or unrealistic expectations.
She said, “Like today, I have my period, so I was like, I don’t want to wear anything too tight. I’m just going to be in jeans.”
Ananya Panday also addressed the pressure of maintaining a perfect appearance, stating that she avoids over-editing or excessively touching up her photos.
She added, “I speak very honestly about how I’m feeling. I don’t get into over-editing photos or touching them up.”
Discussing fitness, Ananya clarified that her toned appearance in Tu Meri Main Tera was the result of intense effort rather than natural ease.
She said, “I had to follow a very strict diet, and I was working out every single day,” while explaining that she now feels free to enjoy her food.
The film’s trailer introduces two strangers vacationing at the same location, whose friendship slowly develops into a romance with an emotional turn.
Directed by Sameer Vidwans, who previously collaborated with Kartik Aaryan on Satyaprem Ki Katha, the upcoming film promises heartfelt storytelling.
Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri releases in cinemas on December 25 and also stars Neena Gupta, Jackie Shroff, and Tiku Talsania in supporting roles.
