Lakers’ Luka Doncic day-to-day with calf injury

Lakers head coach JJ Redick announced Monday that the star player has been listed as day-to-day with a left calf contusion.

The Slovenian is the NBA’s leading scorer, averaging 34.1 points per game. On Saturday, Doncic had 12 points, five rebounds, and two assists in the 19 minutes he played. He missed his first six shots while picking up a technical foul.

The injury leaves the Lakers even more short-handed.

Redick added that Rui Hachimura (groin) remains day-to-day, but did not rule out Austin Reaves (left calf) and Deandre Ayton (left elbow) for Tuesday’s matchup against the Phoenix Suns.
