So is it cold enough for you?
Newly re-signed Saskatchewan Roughriders quarterback Tommy Stevens is spending the offseason in Riderville.
He told the SportsCage that the recent cold snap has been an adjustment.
“I remember asking some of my buddies, my girlfriend, her family, all that. I asked, ‘Hey, how cold is it going to get out here?’ I didn’t know that this was a thing. I didn’t know it ever got below 20°F. I thought that was extreme. They’re talking about negative 40. I’m like, man, is this Siberia? I didn’t know it got this cold.”
“That led me to my next question. I didn’t have a winter coat. I’m just going to double up on hoodies. So I asked, ‘If I were stranded outside, hypothetically, how long would I have?’ They told me it would take 20 or 30 minutes. I was like 20 or 30 minutes. What do you mean?”
Has Stevens, the 29-year-old Indianapolis native, plugged in his car before?
“No, but the same situation happened with me. I was told, ‘Why don’t you just plug your car in?’ I’m like, it’s not electric. That’s why I don’t plug it in. They’re like, ‘No, plug your car in; your battery is going to die.’ I didn’t know that was a thing, so I thought I would have to buy an adapter. And they said no, dude, you have one. You just have to dig in there and find it. This is all very confusing to me. I didn’t know this was a thing.”
