The North Shore Health Network’s Thessalon site is facing a closure of its emergency department later this week due to physician shortages.
The closure is scheduled to begin on Friday morning at 8 a.m. and run until 6 p.m. on Sunday.
Anyone needing immediate medical attention should call 911 and ambulances will be re-routed to the closest emergency departments to the Thessalon site, which are:
Blind River site of the North Shore Health Network (525 Causley St., Blind River, Ont.)
Richards Landing Site of the North Shore Health Network (1180 Richards St., Richards Landing, Ont.)
Sault Area Hospital (750 Great Northern Rd., Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.)
