Mental Health Resources Available for Those Struggling During Holidays

It’s Christmas Day, and while this day is joyous for many, if you are struggling mentally there are resources out there that can help.

John Dinn, a representative of the local chapter of the Canadian Mental Health Association, says many of the resources that are available can be accessed by calling the 811 health line.

Other resources, he says, are Bridge the gapp, the Lifewise Peer Support Line, Kids Help Phone, the First Responders Warm Line, the 2SLGBTQ Warm Line, and the Hope for Wellness support service for Indigenous peoples. Dinn stresses that all of those services can be triaged through 811.
