The Athletics are paying big bucks to keep an important player in the fold.

Left fielder Tyler Soderstrom and the club have agreed to a seven-year, $86-million extension, ESPN’s Jeff Passan reported Thursday.

It is the largest guaranteed payout in franchise history, according to Passan.

Passan reports there is an eighth-year club option and the deal has escalators that could see Soderstrom earn a maximum of $131 million.

Soderstrom, 24, slashed .276/.346/.474 with 25 homers and 93 RBIs last season.

The Athletics selected Soderstrom 26th overall in the 2020 draft.
