Haryana’s Reet Arora stunned top seed Punjab’s Manmeet Kaur Kakka in straight sets to march into the girls’ U-18 final during the ongoing Roots-AITA CS7 National Ranking Tennis Championship in Zirakpur. Reet posted a 6-1 6-1 win over her rival. Second seed Chandigarh’s Ira Chadha posted a 6-3 6-0 win over Sahejpreet Kaur Kakka to set up the title clash with Reet.
In the girls’ U-16 semis, top seed Reet Arora defeated Adhya Bisht of Himachal Pradesh without conceding a game. Second seed Haryana’s Tanya Bhatnager defeated Aishhna 6-3 6-2. In the girls’ U-18 doubles semis, the top seed pair of Ira and Reet defeated Adhya and Sripriya 6-0 6-1, while Punjab’s Sahejpreet and Manmeet Kaur Kakka outplayed Aishhna and Bharti Singh 6-3 6-3.
In the boys’ U-18 semis, Sumukh Marya of Punjab beat Sangram Bhadury of MP 6-4 6-3 to meet Abhinav Chaudhary, who routed Adeshbir Singh 6-1 7-5, in the final. In the boys’ U-16 semis, Adeshbir Singh stunned top seed Prabhroop Singh 6-3 6-3. Charchit Boora overpowered second seed Mahijith Sigh Kaura 6-4 6-2. In the boys U-18 doubles semis, Sumukh Marya and Sangram Bhadury defeated Tanishq Jood and Ashish 6-4 6-1, and Advit Tiwari and Amrat Chaudhary ousted Aaryaveer Sharma and Abhinav Chaudhary by posting a comeback 3-6 6-4 10-4 win.
