The deals that have disappeared

Curious what they are? Here are some of the deals that are now gone.

Biggest price changes this boxing day

While there weren’t many major shifts in price this morning (often these come after 9AM), a few deals have caught my eye. If you’re hunting for the best discounts, here are a couple of price changes worth checking out.

The already bargain Shark IZ102 stick vac has a extra AU$5.01 off thanks to a clickable coupon. It was already at a great price, but this brings it even closer to the Black Friday low of AU$208.

Ugreen has taken an extra 5% percent off many chargers and power banks. Sure, it’s small, but any extra is welcome and it’s worth checking out the full range.

Of course, not all the extra price drops are worth getting excited about. The Pixel 9a price has dropped by an entire AU$0.99. Thanks for that Amazon… (it’s still a great deal overall though)

Google Pixel 9a (128GB, Peony): was AU$847 now AU$679

A cordless vacuum for just AU$217!

Shark IZ102 lifestyle image with dog and person

For an affordable, no-frills approach to a completely clean home, look no further than the Shark IZ102 stick vacuum cleaner. It consistently proves popular with our readers, to the point where Amazon has occasionally run out of stock. It’s consistently available around the AU$230 to AU$250 mark, so it’s easy to see why.

Then Boxing Day deals kicked off on Amazon and the price dropped to AU$217 – not far off the low of AU$208 we saw during Black Friday.

You’ll get decent suction, an LED light on the brush head to show up any hidden debris and a self-cleaning brush roll to ensure it doesn’t throw dirt back onto your floors the next time you clean.

It also offers a few cleaning modes depending on the type of floor you’re vacuuming, which are activated at the touch of a button. And if that wasn’t enough, it can also convert into a smaller handheld vacuum for cleaning the car or upholstery, while a telescopic bar and crevice tool allow you to get up to your ceilings.

It’s essentially everything you could need from a vacuum cleaner and all at a truly affordable price. It may not be the most powerful tool in the shed, but it’s handy for small spaces and those quick clean-ups.

A deal worth repeating

Amazon Echo Auto

You don’t need the latest automobile technology to gets some smarts in a car. The Amazon Echo Auto makes it easy to add hands-free Alexa to your older vehicle, letting you stay connected and entertained while you drive. With Alexa on the go, you can ask for directions, play your favourite music, switch podcasts, listen to audiobooks, or even make calls.

I should note that the Echo Auto may not be compatible with all old cars. Thankfully Amazon has a handy list of models you can check before you make a purchase like this. Even if you don’t need it, perhaps a loved one would find it handy – it could be a thoughtful Christmas gift.

Thanks to its five built-in microphones, it picks up your voice clearly over road noise, air conditioning, or even chatty passengers. If you use Android, this is a great travel companion, and right now, it’s available at 51% off.

Are you a Prime member yet?

If there’s one thing you need to do to take full advantage of any major Amazon sale is to become a Prime member. While I think many Aussies already are, some of you might still be wondering what it means to be a Prime member, what you’re actually paying for and if shelling out a monthly or annual sum is actually worth it.

In short, if you are a regular Amazon shopper, I think it’s worth signing up for it. Your AU$9.99 monthly fee (or AU$79 annually) gets you free and expedited shipping on thousands of products without needing to fulfil a minimum spend.

That fee also gets you free access to Prime Video (which does have some excellent shows and movies), along with Prime Reading and Prime Gaming. Just the first one more than makes up for the investment you’re making in my opinion. As a Prime member, you also now get two years of free DoorDash deliveries.

While there are generally no Prime-exclusive deals right now for Boxing Day, there are the occasional coupons or lightning deals that won’t explicitly say it’s for Prime members, but will only appear if you’re signed in with a paid account. You can find out more about the subscription service in my dedicated guide to what is Amazon Prime in Australia.

It’s also worth noting that if you’ve never tried this service before, signing up now will get you a 30-day free trial that more than covers the sale. If you don’t want to pay at all, you can cancel as soon as the sale finishes. Keep in mind that if you use the same email later to sign up again, you will not get that free trial later even if you didn’t use all 30 days.

If you’re interested in getting your delivery from Amazon expedited this sale season, you can hit one of the buttons below to sign up.

Dyson blows us away

Dyson Supersonic Nural hair dryer lying on its side and viewed from the rear. A hand is seen in black and white with "Don't Miss" text in a copper/orange colour in the top left

Dropping in price by a dollar compared to Black Friday price, I suppose I can say that the Dyson Supersonic Nural is a must-have, even though its discounted price is still quite prohibitive for a hair dryer.

It’s not just any hair dryer though. I think I’d say it justifies its high price tag.

Here’s why:

This hair dryer knows when you put it down, and it will go into low-power mode after a mere second. As soon as you pick it up again, it will power back on.A plethora of sensors ensure the right settings are applied depending on which attachment you use – no manual adjustments needed. The sensors also adjust how hot or cold the airflow is based on how far the Nural is from your head to maintain what feels like a constant temperature on your scalp, thus protecting it.

Is it any wonder it costs AU$749 at full price? However, a generous discount on the Jasper Plum (my personal favourite colour) and the Ceramic Patina/Topaz variants makes it a tempting purchase right now.

Sony earbuds for under AU$70? Yes, please!

black Sony WF-C510 Truly Wireless Earbuds on green background with price cut TechRadar icon

The Sony WF-C510 are a great pair of earbuds, and we rate them as the best cheap Sony earbuds in our buyers guide.

In our Sony WF-C510 review, we gave them 4.5-stars and said we’d “pick these cheap earbuds over more expensive AirPods 4.” and “these are some of the best cheap earbuds out there right now and they continue Sony’s dominance of the audio market.”

High praise indeed!

While not as cheap as October’s AU$60 offer on Amazon, I think AU$68 is still a darn good deal, and you can pick them up in four different colour options at the same price. Christmas gift idea, anyone?

Budget ‘buds prove a big hit

Soundcore by Anker P20i True Wireless Earbuds, 10mm Drivers with Big Bass, Bluetooth 5.3, 30H Long Playtime, Water-Resistant, 2 Mics for AI Clear Calls, 22 Preset EQs, Customization via App

We always aim to give as many products a TechRadar seal of approval as we can, but we can’t review everything. In such instances, we can confidently rely on feedback from real customers, especially when there are over 87,000 reviews of a product, as is the case with these budget-friendly Anker Soundcore P20i earbuds.

While we’ve not reviewed this exact model, we have had experience with Soundcore headphones and have found them to perform incredibly well for the price – just see our Anker Soundcore Space One Pro review as an example.

The general consensus of the P20i earbuds – which are available now for the small sum of AU$25.99 down from AU$59.99 – is that they perform well above what their price tag would suggest. Customers deem them to be comfortable to wear for long periods, incredibly easy to use (it’s also recommended you download the companion smartphone app for tweaking the sound profile) and they sound great.

There appears to be agreement that they’re not going to sound as good as pairs that cost two, three or four times as much, but that should be expected at this price. Multiple reviews of these earbuds say that for the price, you really can’t go wrong – perhaps it’s no wonder they’re one of the best selling products on the Amazon Australia store right now.

Everyone loves ice cream!

Ninja Swirl by Creami various recipes

(Image credit: Karen Freeman / Future)

If you haven’t gotten onto the Ninja Creami bandwagon yet, it’s worth checking out, particularly if you’re a fan of ice creams and sorbets. If you love soft serves too, there’s a machine that does it all.

Read our review for the full scoop, but the Ninja Swirl is is the same Creami we’ve all come to love but with a soft-serve attachment added on. This alone has 6 programs so you can customise your soft serves, but that now means there are a total of 13 presets to make your fave frozen desserts.

You’ll need some countertop space or a shelf to store this machine when it’s not in use, but it could well be worthwhile as it’s a lot less expensive to make your ice creams than keep buying them. And you can make them as healthy or unhealthy as you wish.

Amazon deals under AU$50

There’s plenty of goodies that don’t cost a lot, and Amazon has its own section of Deals Under AU$50 that you can browse through – just don’t expect a lot of tech.

You can, however, stock up on things like toilet paper, laundry detergent, dishwashing tablets and liquid, some beauty products, pet food and pantry essentials.

There’s so much listed on that page that it’s a good thing you can filter down to specific categories via the options in the left sidebar.

Deals aplenty on the day before Christmas

Amazon still hasn’t flipped the switch on an official Boxing Day sale, but if past years are anything to go by, it could land around noon. Either way, I’m watching closely and I’ll keep this page updated once I know more.

In the meantime, a bunch of other sellers dropped new discounts this morning, so I’ve added a stack of fresh deals already. And of course, if something sells out or the price jumps back up, it’s getting removed, so what’s here is only properly good deals.

How fast can deals make it to my door? An Amazon shipping guide

Amazon

If you’re an Amazon shopper in Australia, you’ve probably noticed that shipping speeds can vary depending on where you live. In metro areas, next-day delivery is often available, while some locations, including select metro areas, can even get same-day shipping. But if you’re in a rural or remote area, things can take a little longer.

For those in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Canberra, and select metro areas, Amazon offers next-day shipping on a huge range of products for Prime members. Order today, and your package could be at your door tomorrow. If you’re not a Prime member, standard shipping options are still available, but delivery times may be longer, and you might need to pay extra.

If you live in Sydney or Melbourne, you might even qualify for same-day shipping on select items, but you’ll need an Amazon Prime membership for this option as well. This means that if you place your order before lunchtime, you could have it by the evening. It’s a great option for last-minute gifts or urgent purchases.

For those in regional and rural areas, Amazon still delivers, but shipping times will depend on how far you are from a major hub. Most Prime-eligible items will arrive within two to five days, though some locations may have to wait a little longer. Non-Prime orders may take longer, and shipping costs can vary depending on the seller and product.

No matter where you live, Amazon shipping speeds are better than ever, but if you want to check what’s available in your area, you can enter your postcode at checkout to see estimated delivery times.

Want more info? Head to the Amazon Help hub and click Delivery Speeds & Charges.

If you’re a frequent Amazon shopper, signing up for Prime could be worth it just for the faster shipping alone. If you’ve never tried it, you can start with a 30-day free trial. That means you can sign up now, take advantage of the sale, and cancel anytime if you decide it’s not for you.

Boxing Day early deals on Amazon

A TV, a laptop, headphones and smartphones on green background

Boxing Day is just around the corner – officially landing on December 26. And while Amazon’s official Boxing Day sale isn’t technically here yet, there are already plenty of discounts floating around, and they usually ramp up the closer we get.

If you missed something during Black Friday, this is often the next best chance to grab it at a discounted price. It’s also a decent time to sort out back-to-school gear, line up an upgrade, or finally buy the thing you actually wanted for Christmas but couldn’t justify at full price.

The other nice Amazon quirk is timing. For today only, you can sometimes jump on an early deal before Christmas and still get it delivered in time to quietly slide it under the tree. And even if you’re thinking “I’ll wait”, keep in mind Boxing Day week doesn’t always wait for you – some of the better deals can disappear before the big day itself.

So where do you start when Amazon has deals across tech, games, appliances, wearables and more?

Right here!

I’m tracking the best Amazon deals to see what’s actually dropped in price, and what’s just another fake discount. I’ll be here every day adding new discounts, and I’ll also pull anything that sells out or creeps back up in price, so you know anything here is a genuinely good deal.
