City athletes win 4 medals at cycling c’ship Chandigarh: Athletes from Special Olympics Bharat, Chandigarh, bagged four medals at the National Cycling Championship held in Bokaro-Dhanbad, Jharkhand. Seven athletes from the unit competed in senior and sub-junior categories at the event.Tanveer Singh clinched gold in the 2 km senior category, while Purnima Sahni and Tushar secured silver in the same event. Veronika Chauhan added two more silvers in the 500 m and 1 km sub-junior races. Other Chandigarh participants included Mohit Sachdeva, who finished fifth in the 4 km and sixth in the 2 km event, along with Prince and Kartik, who placed sixth in their respective categories.Dilpreet Sekhon, president, SOB Chandigarh, and Sheetal Negi Sharma, area director, said the results reflected the athletes’ preparation and participation in structured sports programmes.
