TOMPKINSVILLE, Ky. (WSMV) – The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a dog attack involving a juvenile at a soccer field in Gamaliel.
Deputies responded to reports of the attack at about 11 a.m.
Upon arrival, EMS and other first responders were already on the scene with the victim. The sheriff, deputies and officers with the Tompkinsville Police Department spotted three dogs on the porch of a home on East Main Street in which reportedly fit the description of the dogs thought to be involved in the attack.
Shortly after, the dogs ran away — two of them were found within minutes and “taken down.” The third dog remains at large, according to MSCD.

Two people have been issued citations for harboring a vicious animal, with further charges pending and court appearances set for January 6.
“The dogs that were taken down have been turned over to Jason Holland with The Monroe County Health Department and will be sent off for testing next week,” MCSD explained.
