The favourable Christmas weather continued on the day, with bright sunshine accompanying the riders, mounts and dogs as they paraded through Enniskillen town centre and then out along the Lough Shore Road to Derrygonnelly Road, with charity buckets helping to collect money on the day.

As part of the event, the riders also visited the Graan Abbey Care Home at Derrygonnelly Road, where they were warmly welcomed by staff and residents.

Posting on social media, Fermanagh Harriers wrote: “Part of our annual Boxing Day meet this year was to go and visit The Graan, St. Gabriel’s Home, Enniskillen.

“The joy this brought to the residents at Christmas is something words can’t describe.

“It was fantastic to see the residents interacting with the hounds and even getting to see the horses and ponies.”
