Minnesota Lynx star Napheesa Collier will undergo surgery on both of her ankles, forcing her to miss the entire Unrivaled season, the league announced Thursday. The timeline for her recovery is estimated between four to six months, which means she will potentially miss the start of the WNBA season as well.
In early August, Collier sprained her right ankle against the Las Vegas Aces, where she was sidelined for three weeks. Then, in September, Collier tore three ligaments in her left ankle during Game 3 of the WNBA semifinals against the Phoenix Mercury. The Lynx lost the series 3-1. Collier has been the engine behind the Lynx’s recent success, leading the team to its best record in eight years (34-10) last season.
