EMMA BIFFLE, the 14-year-old daughter of NASCAR legend Greg Biffle, has been laid to rest nearly three weeks on from her tragic passing.

Emma was one of seven killed in a devastating plane crash on December 18, which included her father, brother and stepmother.

Her memorial service was held at the Cain Center in Cornelius, North Carolina.

Emma’s mother Nicole wrote a gut-wrenching letter which she was too devastated to read out herself at the funeral.

It spoke of how she will always agonize over letting Emma fly that day despite the teen not feeling well.

Nicole also heartbreakingly revealed how she had bought tickets to Italy the night before the crash as a Christmas present for her daughter.

Friends, family and much of the NASCAR world turned out in force to mourn Emma on Sunday, January 3.

Emma’s obituary written last month described her as “an amazing light in this world.”

“She was fun, outgoing, funny, caring, and above all, a pure soul full of love. She was a good friend to all and always cared how others felt.

“She will be deeply missed by the many people who loved her but mostly by her mom, who shared a profoundly intense bond with her.”

The obituary also mentioned her ‘deep love for animals’ and suggested that any donations to honor her memory could be made to local animal shelters.

A public memorial service to her NASCAR legend father Greg Biffle will be held at Charlotte’s Bojangles Coliseum on January 16.

Greg, Emma, Greg’s wife Cristina, their five-year-old son Ryder as well as Dennis Dutton, his son Jack, and Craig Wadsworth all tragically passed away in the plane crash.

Due to undisclosed reasons, with the NTSB and FAA investigation still ongoing, the business jet circled back minutes after takeoff at Statesville regional airport but did not make the landing.

Former NASCAR driver and close friend of Biffle, Kenny Wallace, shared his theory on why the Cessna C550 crashed.

He believes, while stressing it was only his theory, the airplane’s flaps may have been down, which created intense drag after the plane potentially lost a motor.

Meanwhile, Dennis Dutton’s former neighbour, Jonathan Donoghue, told the US Sun, “All I know is that there was a large, loud pop, like something broke on the plane at takeoff.”

A joint funeral was held on Friday for Dennis, a 67-year-old former commercial jet pilot and Air Force veteran, and his 20-year-old son, Jack, a junior in Auburn University’s flight program.

Wadsworth, another friend of Biffle, was described by his roommate Benito Howell as someone who ‘loved everybody’.

Howell said, “He didn’t know how to say no. He loved everybody. He always tried to help everybody.”
