LeBron James continues to prove he’s unlike any other player in NBA history.

He went for 30 points, eight rebounds and eight assists on Tuesday night, a vintage King performance, to carry the Los Angeles Lakers past a pesky New Orleans Pelicans team.
In the process, he raised his season scoring average to more than 21 points per game.
And yeah, he’s 41 years old.
A great data journalist on X, Lev Akabas, used this as an opportunity to show James’ greatness.
He put together a chart that shows the top scoring averages by age. And, well, James is breaking the aging curve:

At age 37, no one ever averaged more points than LeBron.
At age 38, no one ever averaged more points than LeBron.
At age 39, no one ever averaged more points than LeBron.
At age 40, no one ever averaged more points than LeBron.
And now at age 41, LeBron is averaging more points than anyone ever before.
The only thing that would keep him from breaking marks at further ages would be retirement.
Truly, King James is one of one.
