Winnipeg Jets head coach Scott Arniel told reporters that defenceman Haydn Fleury was able to return home from the hospital last night after getting stretchered off in Tuesday’s game against Vegas.

Arniel added that Fleury suffered a broken nose and bruised back and will continue to be evaluated for any concussion symptoms. He was placed on injured reserve Wednesday, with the Jets recalling forward Danny Zhilkin in his place.

Fleury crashed into the end boards head-first on Tuesday night after he lost his balance skating backwards and taking a hit from Golden Knights forward Keegan Kolesar.

He was unable to get up off the ice and needed to be stretchered off. He went to the hospital with the Jets announcing Fleury was fully alert and able to move all extremities when leaving the arena.
