The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have agreed to terms on a two-year contract with Canadian linebacker Tanner Cadwallader.

He was scheduled to become a free agent in February.

The 5-foot-11, 216-pound defender has been a steady presence on Winnipeg’s special teams since being selected in the seventh round (64th overall) in the 2020 CFL Draft.

The 28-year-old has recorded 68 special teams tackles in his five seasons, while recording 14 in 2025, the third most on the club after Michael Ayers (23) and Jaylen Smith (22).

The Wilfrid Laurier alum has finished top three in special teams tackles for the Blue Bombers in each year from 2022-25, as his career total of 68 currently ranks 12th in club history, four shy of moving into the Top 10.

The Georgetown, Ont. native has not missed a single game since his rookie season in 2021, suiting up for all 86 regular-season games and every playoff contest over that span.
