Boys Soccer: Kilgore blanks Whitehouse, 4-0

KILGORE — The Kilgore Bulldogs shut out Whitehouse 4-0 in non-conference soccer action on Tuesday evening.
Josiah Martinez opened the scoring after finishing a rebound created by a 30-yard shot from Javier Baide. Later, Martinez scored again off of Jordy Sandoval’s throw in, slipping it past the goalkeeper’s hands from 30 yards away.
Mateo Munoz scored Kilgore’s second goal with an assist from Angel Martinez and Isaiah Nabor converted a penalty kick for their third goal after Hernan Vazquez was fouled in the box.
Kilgore (2-0-1) takes on the Pine Tree tournament from Jan. 8-10. Tournament matches are taking place at Pine Tree’s Pirate Stadium, R.E. St. John Memorial Stadium in Kilgore and Lear Park Fields 1 and 2 in Longview over the three days. The Kilgore varsity is scheduled to play Palestine at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Chapel Hill at 7 p.m. on Friday and Hallsville at 11 a.m. on Saturday, all at their home stadium.
