The Toronto Argonauts have announced their coaching staff for the 2026 season, and it includes a familiar name.
Now former running back Ka’Deem Carey will join Toronto’s staff as the team’s running backs coach. The 33-year-old was a member of the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2025, but his season was cut short due to injury.
The Tucson, Ariz. native joined the Argos in 2024 and went on to rush for over 1,000 yards while adding seven scores and career highs with 37 receptions for 356 yards through the air. The six-year CFL veteran spent four seasons in Calgary, leading the league in rushing in 2022 with 1,088 yards. For his career, Carey rushed for 3,956 yards and 26 touchdowns over 65 games.
A boatload of other changes come to the boatmen’s staff, as seven other new coaches arrive in Toronto. Defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Greg Quick, defensive line and assistant head coach Demetrious Maxie, defensive backs coach Jovon Johnson, quarterbacks coach Chris Miller, receivers coach Kierrie Johnson, assistant offensive line and quality control coach Colyn Haugh, and assistant linebackers and quality control coach Bubba Walker are all new from last season.
The only returnees on the staff are now head coach and offensive coordinator Mike Miller, newly minted offensive line coach Dom Picard, and special teams coordinator Mickey Donovan.
