Five Iron Golf is bringing one of golf’s most storied traditions back to life–this time indoors, nationwide, and open to everyday golfers.

Beginning January 12, Five Iron Golf will host the Crosby Clambake x Five Iron Golf, a competitive individual stroke-play tournament inspired by the original Bing Crosby Clambake founded in 1937. Rather than recreating the event as a themed watch-along or nostalgia-driven promotion, Five Iron is transforming it into a real competition that allows golfers across the country to actively participate while the modern-day AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am unfolds in real time.

The tournament will run through February at all 37 Five Iron Golf locations, offering participants the chance to compete on Trackman simulators for a grand prize that includes a VIP Pebble Beach golf getaway–a once-in-a-lifetime experience traditionally reserved for elite players and spectators.

“As one of the most influential stars across music, film, and entertainment, Bing Crosby always believed in bringing people together through shared experiences,” Sam Sklover, Vice President of Brand Partnerships at Primary Wave Music, said. “We’re proud to continue the legacy of the Bing Crosby Clambake with Five Iron Golf, pairing modern golf technology with the camaraderie and connection that defined the original tournament.”

From Celebrity Spectacle to Nationwide Competition

The original Crosby Clambake was legendary for blending Hollywood glamour, professional golf, and amateur participation on California’s sun-drenched coastline. That spirit of camaraderie and competition lives on in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, one of the most recognizable events on the PGA Tour calendar.

Five Iron Golf’s modern revival taps into that cultural energy, but shifts the focus from watching to playing.

Instead of standing behind ropes, golfers can now tee it up themselves, competing on a simulated Pebble Beach Golf Links course with standardized conditions, live leaderboards, and nationwide scoring integrity. Weather, geography, and access–longstanding barriers in golf–are removed entirely. This isn’t about reliving the past. It’s about expanding who gets to take part in iconic moments.

How the Crosby Clambake x Five Iron Golf Works

The tournament is open to Five Iron Golf members and non-members alike, with participation as simple as booking simulator time.

From January 12-31, players complete a 9-hole qualifying round on Trackman simulators at any Five Iron location. The top five men and top five women nationwide advance to a Pro-Am style finals round, held from February 9-20, playing a simulated Pebble Beach Golf Links course and paired with a Five Iron Golf professional.

The remaining top 80 percent of competitors will continue play in a consolation tournament, ensuring meaningful competition for a wide range of skill levels.

The event is presented by Eventia Sports & Entertainment Group and produced in collaboration with the Bing Crosby Estate, lending both credibility and historical authenticity to the revival.

A Grand Prize That Matches the Legacy

The stakes are fittingly high.

The tournament’s grand prize includes a Pebble Beach golf experience in January 2027, featuring three rounds of golf (including one at Pebble Beach Golf Links), a three-night stay at The Inn at Spanish Bay or The Lodge, access to Player’s Cup events, daily breakfast credits, and a curated Player’s Cup shopping experience.

“What’s always made the Clambake special is the sense that you’re part of something bigger than your own round,” Mike Doyle, Co-Founder and Chief Golf Officer of Five Iron Golf, said. “This format recreates the pressure and shot-making of Pebble Beach in a way that feels incredibly authentic, while opening the door for more players to compete, connect, and play for a prize that reflects the event’s legacy.”

For many golfers, Pebble Beach is a bucket-list destination they may never otherwise access. Five Iron’s tournament turns that dream into something competitive, measurable, and attainable.
