The Ottawa Redblacks released All-Star defensive back Adarius Pickett on Tuesday.

“After discussions with his agent, we decided to release Adarius to allow him to pursue free agency,” said Shawn Burke, Vice President of Football Operations of the Redblacks. “We would like to thank Adarius for his contributions to our club over the past two seasons both on and off the field. We wish him all the best moving forward.”

The 29-year-old native of Berkeley, California, recorded 84 tackles, two sacks and one interception over 18 games in 2025, his second season in the nation’s capital and fifth in the CFL.

Pickett has been named a CFL East All-Star in each of the past three seasons and was named a CFL All-Star in 2023 as a member of the Toronto Argonauts.

Over 79 career games with the Montreal Alouettes, Argos and Redblacks, Pickett has 337 tackles with 14 sacks, four interceptions and five forced fumbles.
