Nichelle Prince is on the move.
National Women’s Soccer League expansion team Boston Legacy announced the acquisition of the 30-year-old Canada forward in a trade with the Kansas City Current.
A native of Ajax, Ont., Prince spent the past two seasons with the Current following seven with the Houston Dash.
“Nichelle is a proven NWSL player who brings real quality and experience to our group. She’s competed at the highest level and knows what it takes to win, both in this league and internationally with Canada,” Legacy general manager Domè Guasch said in a statement. “She adds pace, intelligence, and versatility, and we believe her profile fits exactly what we want to build in Boston. Just as important, Nichelle is a strong presence off the field, someone who will raise standards and help drive our culture from day one and into the future.”
Prince joins fellow Canada internationals Amanda Allen and Bianca St-Georges on the squad.
Prince appeared in 21 games for the Current this past season, scoring once. A product of Ohio State, Prince has 15 career goals in 122 NWSL appearances over nine seasons.
Internationally, Prince has been capped 113 times by Canada since her senior debut in 2013. She’s appeared at two World Cups and three Summer Olympics, including a gold medal-winning effort at Tokyo 2020.
The Legacy will play their inaugural season in 2026.
