Golfers at Cedar Hill Golf Course will see fee increases starting this spring, after Saanch council unanimously approved a new rate structure designed to support the long-term sustainability of the municipal course.

Council endorsed updated green fees for Cedar Hill covering the 2026-2028 seasons, as part of Phase 2 of a multi-year golf rate plan first approved in 2024.

Current rates remain in place until March 31, 2026, with the new fees taking effect April 1. Prices will then increase by the same amount on April 1, 2027, as well.

Under the approved plan, adult 18-hole green fees will increase by $5 per round, meaning summer golfers will now pay $57 for a weekday round and $64 for a weekend round, up from $52 and $59, respectively.

Meanwhile, junior 18-hole rounds will rise by $2 per round. Nine-hole rounds will see proportional increases.

Staff are also planning to introduce a new 18-hole twilight rate and pilot a Junior LIFE pass program, under the LIFE program which “assists individuals…living on a low income to access recreation services and programs at our recreation centres,” according to the district.

The changes follow a recent market scan comparing Cedar Hill to other municipal courses in Vancouver and Kelowna as well as local public-access clubs. The analysis found Cedar Hill lags behind other municipal courses by roughly $15 to $19 in both summer and winter.

Staff say rounds played at Cedar Hill have grown steadily since 2020, averaging a 4.5 per cent annual increase, and the incremental approach to fee increases is meant to avoid sudden price shocks while supporting continued growth.

The district estimates the rate increases will generage about $265,000 in additional revenue in 2026 and again in 2027, or a nine per cent annual increase.

Council supported the proposal without amendment, allowing the updated fee structure to take effect April 1.
