NASCAR legend Tony Stewart is returning to Daytona. The Hall of Famer is set to compete in a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Daytona International Speedway on Feb. 13 in the season opener.
Stewart is driving for Kaulig Racing, which is partnering with RAM to field five Truck Series entries this season, according to NASCAR.com.
Kaulig will have three full-time drivers for 2026, with another driver being the winner of the “Race for the Seat” reality TV series. The additional driver will be a rotation of free-agent drivers. Tony Stewart will serve as the first free-agent driver in the season opener next month.
“I’ve raced just about everything with four wheels at Daytona, but never a truck. So when a seat in the new Ram was offered up for their first race back in NASCAR, I didn’t hesitate,” Tony Stewart said in a release. “Ram’s Free Agent program is another great way for me to stay sharp and have a little fun.”
The 54-year-old Stewart has won three NASCAR Cup Series championships. However, he has not competed in a NASCAR national series race since 2016.
Stewart has made six starts in the Truck Series, according to NASCAR.com, but has not competed since 2005. He has won two Truck Series races — one in 2002 and another in 2003.
