2026 Cal Spring Schedule

Coming off an impressive fall half of the season that culminated in some special performances at the NCAA individual championships, the 15th-ranked California women’s tennis team will start a spring schedule of at least 18 dual matches, including 11 ACC contests, 10 home matches and at least eight matches against nationally ranked teams. The second half of the season officially starts with the Cal Winter Invitational on Friday.

After the winter tournament, Cal begins dual-match play when it competes in the ITA Kickoff Weekend in Austin, Texas. The Golden Bears face No. 25 Baylor on Jan. 24 and then play either host 12th-ranked Texas or Arizona on Jan. 25. The winner of the four-team event qualifies for the ITA National Team Indoor Championship, which Northwestern and Illinois co-host from Feb. 6-10.

The Bears play their first two home dual matches against No. 17 UCLA (Jan. 30) and No. 19 USC (Jan. 31). Cal’s ACC home opener against Clemson on Feb. 20 starts a four-match stretch against conference opponents that includes a visit by 11th-ranked NC State on Feb. 27. The homestand concludes with a nonconference battle against No. 21 Pepperdine on March 8, with the Waves then hosting the Bears in a March 15 clash in Malibu.

A four-match ACC road trip follows, with the Bears returning home for three straight matches to end the regular season. They host No. 14 Virginia on April 3, Virginia Tech on April 5 and ninth-ranked Stanford in the regular-season home finale on April 8. The ACC Championship follows from April 14-19 in Cary, North Carolina.

The conference tournament winner earns an automatic berth to the NCAA Championship, which starts May 1 and ends May 14, with the final rounds taking place in Orlando, Florida. Orlando was also the site of the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships in November, when Cal senior Berta Passola Folch earned All-America honors as she finished as the national runner-up in singles. She was one of four Bears – including Mao Mushika, Greta Greco Lucchina and Naomi Xu – who competed in NCAA singles, while Mushika – a 2024-25 doubles All-American – and Greco Lucchina also played in NCAA doubles.
