Toronto Maple Leafs forward William Nylander suffered a lower-body injury in Thursday’s game against the Vegas Golden Knights.

Nylander exited the contest during the first period and was ruled out by the team at the beginning of the second frame.

“He’s back playing great and now he’s out again,” Berube said after the 6-5 overtime loss. “We’ll see how long.”

The 29-year-old had a huge impact on Thursday’s contest before he was forced out of action.

He made a pass to the point that defenceman Morgan Rielly ripped home for the opening marker of the game, and netted a goal of his own just under three minutes later to give the Leafs an early 2-0 lead.

Nylander appeared to stumble against the boards after scoring the goal and did not take another shift in the game.

The forward recently returned to Toronto’s lineup after missing six games with a lower-body injury.

Nylander has 17 goals and 31 assists in 37 games this season for the Maple Leafs.
