Part of the action during the WND Park Race at the inner circuit of the National Park.
Despite heavy winds and persistent rainfall, cyclists turned out in strong numbers for the 2025 WND Park Race season opener at the inner circuit of the National Park yesterday, delivering an action-packed morning of competition organised by the Continental Cycling Club.
The Elite/Open race was dominated in emphatic fashion by Briton John, who rode away from the field from the very first lap and lapped the entire peloton within the opening 10 laps. Because he achieved this within the first 15 laps of the 30-lap main event, John was automatically declared the winner under the race rules and was awarded all 30 sprint prime prizes, as every lap carried a sprint incentive. His commanding ride left the rest of the field battling for the remaining podium places.
