Software version 15.52 is currently rolling out to the Garmin Forerunner 570 and Forerunner 970 smartwatches. The release brings minor improvements to users of these wearables, as well as a range of bug fixes. In a recent forum post, the company confirms how many users have received the update so far.
Garmin is rolling out a new stable update for the Forerunner 570 and Forerunner 970 smartwatches. The version 15.52 release arrives around a month after the version 15.33 update, which brought a series of minor improvements and bug fixes to these wearables.
Stable version 15.52 is another relatively minor update. As was the case for its predecessor, the change log states that this update brings several bugs fixed and improvements to these Forerunner smartwatches. Unfortunately, no further details are provided, so it is unclear how these will benefit users. The other line in the release notes is also quite vague. It states that Garmin has made changes which “support manufacturing”, which seems unlikely to affect the user experience.
In a post on the Garmin forum, a representative for the brand stated that update version 15.52 had been pushed to at least 50% of users of the Forerunner 570 (47 mm curr. from $479.99 at Amazon) and Forerunner 970 smartwatches. It is unclear when this rollout will be complete. When it is available to you, you will be able to manually trigger the installation process by going to the Menu > System > Software Update > Check For Updates. These wearables also recently received a new beta update, version 16.14, which improved the Morning Report for a select group of users.
