Taylor Sheridan is best known for his work creating popular neo-Western TV shows like Yellowstone and Landman, but five years ago, he wrote, directed, and produced a fiery psychological thriller that’s tearing up streaming charts. The film grossed only $19 million at the box office, but budgeting information has never been made public, so it’s impossible to predict if it was a profitable film or a flop. It’s been estimated that it cost around $20 million to make the film, but this has never been confirmed.
Sheridan makes his hay with TV shows, but he got his career started with movies. He made his feature writing debut in 2015 on Sicario, which is still viewed by many as the best project of his writing career. He also wrote a sequel to the film that was not met with the same reception. Over the years, Sheridan has also worked on other popular films like Hell or High Water (starring Jeff Bridges) and Wind River (starring Jeremy Renner), and he’s working on another movie coming to theaters next year.
When Does Taylor Sheridan’s Next Movie Come Out?
Taylor Sheridan’s next movie, F.A.S.T., will be released in theaters on April 13, 2027. The film is being billed as a spiritual successor to Sicario, and while there will be no direct connection, it has been confirmed to be another drug crime thriller set at the border. Sheridan has recruited stars such as Sam Claflin and Jason Clarke to headline F.A.S.T., and his long-time cinematographer and director Ben Richardson is directing the film. Taylor Sheridan is also writing a Call of Duty movie before he leaves Paramount.
