The Board of Directors of the Belleville General Hospital Foundation (BGHF) is pleased to announce Alec Bauer, Associate Director – Major Gifts & Partnerships, has been appointed as Interim Executive Director, pending the recruitment of a permanent Executive Director.
The search for a new ED began in mid-December when the BGHF announced that Steve Cook was stepping down from his role as he moves on to a new Foundation leadership opportunity in the Greater Toronto Area.
Alec will lead the Foundation’s operations and fundraising efforts during the transition, working closely with the other two members of the Foundation’s leadership team, Amanda Grydziuszko, Associate Director – Annual Programs & Donor Engagement and Erin Hewitson, Major Gifts Officer, as well as the full BGHF team.
Alec brings strong fundraising expertise, deep knowledge of the Foundation’s donor community, and a proven track record of advancing major gift and partnership initiatives. Since joining the Foundation, he has played a key role in strengthening the Foundation’s fundraising approach and supporting major investments in hospital priorities.
“The Board has full confidence in Alec, Amanda and Erin as the Foundation leadership team,” said Wayne Sheppard, Chair, BGHF Board of Directors. “This group brings the experience, stability, and momentum needed to continue delivering strong results for our hospital and community as we move through the recruitment process for a permanent Executive Director.”
The Board has begun the search for a permanent Executive Director and is committed to ensuring a smooth and well-supported transition. In the meantime, the Foundation remains focused on its mission: to inspire community giving at all levels to improve healthcare outcomes for the people of Quinte.
