The makers of Arctic comedy North of North say production of its second season has begun in Iqaluit and Toronto.

The show’s first season on APTN, CBC and Netflix was a hit. Its producers say it was “the most-watched new series on CBC Gem since the launch of the streaming platform.”

On Tuesday, the show’s networks and production companies Red Marrow Media and Northwood Entertainment said filming of season two had started and will continue until April.

There isn’t an exact air date for the second season yet. The companies said it will arrive “later in 2026.”

“Season two will continue to follow Siaja, a young Inuk mother who attempts to build a new life in her tiny Arctic community of Ice Cove,” a news release stated.
