The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have re-signed defensive end Willie Jefferson to a one-year contract extension, the club announced on Thursday.
The veteran will return to Winnipeg for his 12th CFL sason and seventh with the Bombers. He appeared in 17 games last season and and recorded 15 defensive tackles, three quarterback sacks, one forced fumble and a league-best 16 pass knockdowns.
Jefferson ranks fifth all-time in Blue Bombers history with 46 sacks. He is a six-time CFL All-Star and was named the Most Outstanding Defensive Player in 2019.
The 34-year-old has won three Grey Cup Championships over his career with Edmonton (2015) and Winnipeg (2019, 2021).
The Beaumont, Texas native has appeared in 178 career CFL games with Edmonton, the Saskatchewan Roughriders, and Blue Bombers.
