CINCINNATI (WKRC) – A health supplement sold nationwide was recalled because it could be connected to a salmonella outbreak that sent 12 people to the hospital.

The Food and Drug Administration issued a recall for Live It Up Super Greens across multiple sizes and flavors because the products may be linked to a salmonella outbreak that is connected to 45 illnesses and 12 hospitalizations. The FDA and CDC have not confirmed what product the outbreak is linked to, but one of the suspects is Live It Up Super Greens.

The specific products affected are:

The affected lots begin with the letter “A” or the number “3”, and have expiration dates between 08/2026 and 01/2028.

The FDA defined salmonella as “an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.”
