Universal Pictures’ release of Illumination and Nintendo’s The Super Mario Galaxy Movie will now open on Wednesday, April 1 instead of April 3, day and date with many global markets.

This is the same release pattern as the first movie, Super Mario Bros Movie, which bowed on a Wednesday over Easter weekend and minted $204.6M over five days stateside and $146.1M over 3-days. On a Friday-Sunday level, that’s the second best start for a movie at the domestic box office over Easter following Batman v. Superman ($181M).
