A two‑week crime spree involving stolen vehicles, smashed‑open autobody shops and break‑ins at homes across Calgary has led to six people facing more than 100 criminal charges.

Calgary police say the investigation began in December 2025, when officers learned that a “prolific offender” on probation was driving a stolen vehicle.

That discovery led to a wider probe linking the offender and several associates to break‑ins at five autobody shops, where nine vehicles were stolen and significant damage was left behind.

In one of the break-ins, investigators allege a suspect stole a tow truck from a residential driveway and used it to ram through the exterior wall of a business, giving the crew access to vehicles inside.

In total, 14 stolen vehicles, valued between $8,000 and $70,000, have now been recovered.

The same suspects are also accused of breaking into multiple homes and stealing items, including tools and designer handbags.

Three people were arrested on Jan. 7, at a downtown short‑term rental. Two days later, officers arrested three more people at another property.

Police say they seized stolen goods, cash, two guns and ammunition during the arrests.
