The last time Dodge competed in a NASCAR Cup Series race was November 2012, with Team Penske driver Brad Keselowski wrapping up the manufacturer’s Cup Series tenure by winning the 2012 Cup Series title.

But with Stellantis returning to NASCAR with RAM in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2026, a Cup Series return for Dodge is on the table relatively soon.

Per John Newby, Stellantis’ current goal is the enter a Cup Series entry in the 2027 Daytona 500. Newby reported that RAM CEO Tim Kuniskis said that Stellantis “has every intention” of trying to get to the Cup Series.

Kuniskis also said that without the potential of getting to the Cup Series, it would’ve been difficult to get Kaulig Racing onboard to be the flagship team for RAM in the Craftsman Truck Series. Kaulig, which currently fields Chevrolets in the Cup Series, is fielding five RAM trucks for the 2026 Truck Series season.Â
