'Not appropriate some days': Melania Trump reacts to US President's YMCA dance Donald Trump’s signature “YMCA” fist-pump might be a hit at rallies and across social media, but at home, it’s getting a mixed review. In an appearance on Fox News’ The Five, First Lady Melania Trump revealed that while she enjoys her husband’s famous dance, “some days it’s not appropriate.”During the interview, host Jesse Watters asked about the viral dance, saying, “When he’s doing the YMCA he says you don’t like it. How do you feel?”Melania responded, “I like it at certain times, but some days it’s not appropriate, and I told him so. But it’s his dance, and I think people love it, people in sport. All around the world, they’re dancing.”She continued, “It’s a great atmosphere when he does, so it brings happiness and fun as well serious as you need to be as well. So, I think he’s doing just fine.”Watters then asked, “You’ve never done the Y, have you?” Melania replied, “I did.” Surprised, Watters said, “You did?” She added only, “It’s different than his.”Earlier in the show, host Greg Gutfeld asked Melania about her relationship with Donald Trump before his political career. “What’s your relationship with the president, not knowing he was going to be president?” he asked.Melania said, “I always thought you know that one day he might go and run and I always told him if you do it, you will win, because I knew how much people loved him. And here we are again.”The interview came ahead of the release of Melania, a 104-minute documentary opening Friday, January 30, in about 1,500 to 2,000 theaters nationwide. The film follows Melania Trump during the 20 days leading up to Donald Trump’s second inauguration as the 47th president in 2025.The documentary offers behind-the-scenes access to Trump Tower in New York City, Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, and the White House, showing both the public and private demands of Melania Trump’s role.
