After a fantastic extended weekend and then wonderful hold on Tuesday, Border 2 saw an expected drop on Wednesday as weekdays kicked in. Still, the collections are quite good with Rs. 15.04 crores coming in. Looking at Friday (Rs. 32.10 crores) to Wednesday drop, it’s still just a little over 50% and that’s good enough to ensure that Thursday would be stable as well.
Overall, the film is looking at registering one of the best Week One for a Bollywood film as collections would be close to Rs. 250 crores. So far, the film has brought in Rs. 231.83 crores and first week would settle around Rs. 245 crores mark. Post that, while Friday would stay in double digits again, Saturday and Sunday should see a huge jump and that will ensure that Rs. 300 crores milestone is surpassed in 10 days flat.
With this big success, Sunny Deol has shown that he is firmly back, and how. While Gadar 2 was a 500 Crore Club success, Jaat actually deserved to enter the 100 Crore Club and stopped just short. However, Border 2 has now exceeded expectations as Rs. 400 crores is there for the taking and for the actor to deliver around Rs. 1000 crores at the box office within two and a half years through just 3 films is nothing short of remarkable.
