2025 SEASON RECAP: Joe Gibbs Racing placed three drivers in the top five in the final standings last season with Denny Hamlin second, Chase Briscoe third, and Christopher Bell fifth. The organization’s drivers combined for 13 points-paying wins, 47 top-five finishes, 69 top-10s, 2,494 laps led, and 13 pole awards. HAMLIN AT THE CLASH: Denny Hamlin is a four-time winner of the Clash exhibition race. With three wins (2006, 2014, 2016) when the event previously ran at Daytona International Speedway and his victory at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in 2024, Hamlin ranks second behind Dale Earnhardt (six wins) on the all-time Clash wins list. Last year at Bowman Gray Stadium, Hamlin started third and led 28 laps before finishing third.

2025 SEASON RECAP: The Virginia native led all drivers with six wins in 2025. Working with new crew chief Chris Gayle, Hamlin claimed victories at Martinsville Speedway, Darlington Raceway, Michigan International Speedway, Dover Motor Speedway, World Wide Technology Raceway, and Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Hamlin’s Las Vegas win was the 60th victory of his career, making him only the 11th driver to reach 60 NASCAR Cup Series wins. Overall, Hamlin posted 14 top-five finishes, 18 top-10s, five pole awards, and 1,024 laps led on the way to finishing second in the final standings.

CHRIS GAYLE: This will be Chris Gayle’s eight full-time season as a Cup Series crew chief. In 250 starts atop the pit box, Gayle has guided his teams to eight wins, 57 top-five finishes, 99 top-10s, nine pole awards, and 2,167 laps led. Last season working with Hamlin provided a breakout year for the Arkansas native as he led the No. 11 team to six victories, 14 top-five finishes, 18 top-10s, five pole awards, and 1,024 laps led. Gayle’s teams also enjoyed remarkable success in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series with 37 wins, 84 top-five finishes, 133 top-10s, 25 pole awards, and 5,994 laps led in 198 starts.

BRISCOE AT THE CLASH: Chase Briscoe has competed in four NASCAR Cup Series Clashes – three at the Los Angeles Coliseum and last year at Bowman Gray Stadium. In last year’s race, a steering issue ended Briscoe’s race early, resulting in a 23rd-place finish.

2025 SEASON RECAP: Briscoe had the best year of his Cup Series career in 2025 with career highs in nearly every statistical category and a third-place finish in the final standings. Briscoe won three races – Pocono Raceway, his second consecutive Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway, and the annual playoff race at Talladega Superspeedway. The No. 19 driver led all drivers with seven pole awards in addition to 15 top-five finishes, 19 top-10s, and 884 laps led.

JAMES SMALL: 2026 will be James Small’s seventh season leading the No. 19 team and his second year with Briscoe behind the wheel. No. 20 Mobil 1 Toyota Camry XSE

BELL AT THE CLASH: Christopher Bell will attempt to make his fourth Clash appearance and second at Bowman Gray Stadium. Last year at Bowman Gray, Bell started eighth and finished 12th. His best finish in two Clash starts at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum was an eighth-place result in 2022.

2025 SEASON RECAP: Bell claimed his fourth consecutive top-five finish in the final standings last season. He kicked off 2025 by winning three of the first four races with victories at Atlanta Motor Speedway, Circuit of the Americas, and Phoenix Raceway. Bell followed up his strong start by winning the NASCAR All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro Speedway. During the playoffs, he added another win in the Bristol night race. Overall, the No. 20 driver closed the season with 13 top-five finishes and 22 top-10s.

CHILI BOWL: Bell took on the role of team owner at this year’s Chili Bowl Nationals in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He collected wins in the Race of Champions and the A-Main race on his qualifying night to lock himself into the prestigious main event. In Saturday night’s main event, Bell started fifth and finished eighth.

ADAM STEVENS: 2026 will be crew chief Adam Stevens’ 12th season atop the pit box. During his Cup Series career, Stevens has led his drivers to a pair of championships (2015 and 2019 with Kyle Busch), 41 wins, 150 top-five finishes, 231 top-10s, 29 pole awards, and 10,135 laps led in 384 starts. Stevens’ teams have finished inside the top five in the final standings in nine of his 11 seasons as a Cup Series crew chief, including the past four years with Bell. Stevens also enjoyed success during his time as a NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series crew chief as his teams posted 31 wins, 73 top-five finishes, 95 top-10s, 27 pole awards, and 5,592 laps led in 124 starts.

TY GIBBS

No. 54 Monster Energy Toyota Camry XSE

GIBBS AT THE CLASH: Ty Gibbs has competed in two Clash races during his NASCAR Cup Series career. In 2024, Gibbs started third and led a race-high 84 laps before a late-race accident relegated him to an 18th-place result. Last year at Bowman Gray Stadium, Gibbs was involved in an accident during the last chance qualifier race and did not advance to the main event.

2025 SEASON RECAP: Gibbs recorded five top-five finishes, 10 top-10s, and 304 laps led last season. The No. 54 driver’s season was highlighted by winning the inaugural In-Season Tournament during the summer. He also turned in a stellar performance at Bristol Motor Speedway in September by leading a career-high 201 laps.

TYLER ALLEN: Crew chief Tyler Allen is in his second year leading Gibbs and the No. 54 team. Last year, Allen and the No. 54 team earned five top-five finishes, 10 top-10s, and 304 laps led. In 2024, Allen led JGR’s No. 20 NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series team to eight victories and a runner-up finish in the owner’s championship.
