Margot Robbie is solidifying her bond with Wuthering Heights costar Jacob Elordi.

The actress, 35, gifted Elordi, 28, a matching signet ring ahead of the film’s press tour. Cece Jewellery’s Cece Fein-Hughes told British Vogue the meaning behind the custom pieces, which are meant to symbolize the relationship between their characters.

Robbie and Elordi star as Catherine and Heathcliff in the forthcoming film adaptation of Emily Brontë’s 1847 novel, directed by Emerald Fennell.

The chunky gold rings feature two hand-enamelled skulls locked in an embrace and surrounded by thorns, “to symbolize both bittersweet love and the harshness of nature,” per Vogue.

The design also includes an inscription of an Emily Brontë quote (“Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same”) as well as Cathy and Heathcliff’s initials and “1847-2026”, a reference to the year the book was published and that of the new film’s release.

“I was drawn to the love story itself and the landscape that shapes it,” Fein-Hughes shared.

The designer has also created one-of-a-kind pieces for A-listers like Taylor Swift. In 2024, she made a custom ring that Gigi Hadid gifted to the pop star.

Robbie and Elordi leaned into method dressing for the Los Angeles premiere of Wuthering Heights on Wednesday, Jan. 28.

The three-time Oscar nominee wore a form-fitting Schiaparelli gown with a nude lace bodice that faded into a dramatic, black-and-red train that resembled the petals of a flower.

She accessorized with the Cartier Taj Mahal necklace from the Elizabeth Taylor Archive and Estate, the estate confirmed. Richard Burton presented the jewel to Taylor in 1972 for her 40th birthday.

In a red carpet interview, Robbie said she and her stylist, Andrew Mukamal, try to be “intentional” with what she’s wearing and felt that the jewel’s history made it an “appropriate” match with the dress.

“This necklace and the diamond itself has a pretty incredible history and feels like a very romantic history, so it felt appropriate to match with our Schiaparelli gown,” she shared.

Robbie completed the look with custom 38-carat Lorraine Schwartz diamond earrings consisting of vintage old-cut stones set in blackened bronze and gold, and a 12-carat diamond ring from the jewelry designer. She also wore jewels from Fred Leighton.

In an interview with Fandango published on Jan. 14, Elordi said there were moments he and Robbie could really feel their characters’ love for each other.

“There’d be a moment where we’d be running hand-in-hand through the moors, maybe not even in the scene, just setting it up, where I’d look across at her and she’d be looking at me and you really realized you are looking at Catherine and she was looking at Heathcliffe,” Elordi said. “And in that moment, we really were a part of their love, for real.”

Wuthering Heights hits theaters on Feb. 13.
