Both teams have a weird system…of not having a system. All the players appeared to be out of position and it’s causing havoc.Bayern got done over by a soft foul (that doesn’t even remotely look like a foul) but their players get bulldozed and nothing happens. Cool.
45+5’ — Manuel Neuer produces yet another brilliant save.
42’ — TOR! Serge Gnabry crosses the ball into the Hamburg box and Harry Kane eventually blasts the ball home after a scramble.
34’ — The ref calls a silly and soft foul in the box and Hamburg convert the resulting penalty.
29’ — Joshua Kimmich has a pop from distance but his shot hits the crossbar.
24’ — Manuel Neuer saves a shot from point-blank range.
23’ — Hamburg get a yellow card.
22’ — Harry Kane shoots from distance but the ball goes wide.
12’ — Bayern has seen Michael Olise and Harry Kane upended but nothing given.
6’ — The ensuing corner came dangerously close to sailing past Manuel Neuer.
5’ — Kim Min-jae and Dayot Upamecano intervene and turn the ball back behind the goal line.
Lineups are out! Josip Stanisic returns to action, while Jamal Musiala starts on the bench. Luis Diaz is interestingly benched along with Tom Bischof and Hiroki Ito.
Bayern Munich sealed the deal in the Champions League following a 2-1 win over PSV Eindhoven in the last league phase match before the knockout rounds. Up next for the Bavarians is a visit to Hamburg in the north.
The Rekordmeister has never dropped points against the Bundesliga’s “dinosaur” in 12 years, and they’ve never lost to them in 17. This is also a Hamburg team that hasn’t won a match of football since December so this should be doable for Bayern.
